In the summer of 2011, neighbors noticed that several blocks were dimly lit at night and could be attractive for criminals.  Neighbors formed a Light Brigade, first changing light bulbs on porches, then receiving a grant from the Greater Milwaukee Foundation, through the Healthy Neighborhood Initiative, to replace 25 porch lights with bright, long-lasting, high efficiency lights.  Better lighting makes neighbors feel safer and scares aware potential criminals!  We anticipate this program returning in 2015!

What is the 'Light Brigade'?
